About me

Hi, my name is Dani and I’m a runner.

I took up running in 2008 in an attempt to get fit and lose some weight that didn’t involve the mind-numbing boredom of the gym. To keep up the motivation, I signed up to the Cardiff half-marathon and in the space of six months, I went from struggling to jog for more than a couple of minutes to finishing my first half-marathon. Despite picking up a fair few injuries along the way, I’ve never looked back. In 2011, I branched out into triathlon and have been splitting my time between running, swimming and cycling ever since.

I created this blog in order to chronicle my training for my first marathon, the Virgin London Marathon 2013, and my first Olympic distance triathlon at the Virgin Active London Triathlon 2013. Expect training logs, musings on kit and nutrition, lamentations about injuries and any other odds and ends that might pop into my mind over the course of the next year.
